The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The Good:   Having my mom here for the week. I have gotten caught up on sleep AND laundry (almost). I love my Mama!

The Bad:  Trying to get the kids back into a routine after a month of utter craziness. We had been a great routine through the fall. I was able to just tuck everyone in at night and they at least didn't come out of their rooms. Between the holidays and our move, however, we are just not there. The two-year old feels that staying up until 10 p.m. is just fine and last week I just gave up. I am installing a gate to his room tonight and just going to wish him well. Unfortunately, he shares a room with his 8 year old brother who REALLY likes his sleep.

The Ugly:   Realizing that just because you're over changing diapers and ready for the toddler to be potty trained does not mean that it has happened.  I am so done buying diapers and wipes, changing diapers, and dealing with the general yuck of it all that I haven't even been packing a diaper bag. The kid is still wearing diapers, though, so that's just silly of me. Fortunately, he's been wearing 18 hour diapers or something. I just need to buy him bigger pants to hold the super-absorbent diapers.

  1. All I can think about is Liam screaming at the top of his lungs.. "MOM! POOP!" Missing you guys :)

  2. For some reason I never, ever remember to bring diapers.

  3. A mama who gives you some rest: Such a blessing!! Happy to hear that you got some catch-up time.

And I cleaned poop off the kitchen carpet two days ago. I feel your pain. :)

  4. I thought your mama would have the boy potty trained by now. Maybe she should bring him home and potty train him here. Since we have the two dogs to clean up after, we can handle a two year old (huh? I don't really mean that!)
